Tasting some real mud...

Location: Dwingelderveld
Duration: 1.5 hrs
Distance: 17 km
Weather: cold but sunny
Comments: Started at eight this morning for the first real ride on my new bike. The heather was slightly frozen but also very muddy. We tasted some real mud and didn't meet a soul. Saw a beautiful sunrise. During the actual sunrise when the light and warmth of the sun started to hit the ground I arrived at my favorite spot.
Inspired by the moment I stripped naked and did my daily yoga-exercise “the greeting of the sun” on the frozen gras, with my bare feet holding the earth and with my hands touching the sun. A wonderful experience.

  • Hi~

Thanks for telling me about your bike log.
I almost said something about your kick-stand in my previous post about your new bike. We rarely have them attached to our 'grownup' bikes around here. I see you found reason to get rid of yours :o)
Another thing I noticed was that your back fender has a reflector piece on it. Very good idea. The fender I got for my Rockhopper doesn't have one.

As for this early morning inaugural ride, this sounds like a spontaneous, sublime experience. Can't ask for anything more memorable than something like this to 'bond' with your new bike.

    happy trails!
    Laurie
